Set in Baltimore, this show centers around the emergence of a drug market. It starts as mid-level drug dealer, DAngelo Barksdale beats the rap scene. After speaking with the judge, Det. James McNulty has been assigned to a joint homicide and narcotics team, in order to reduce drug Kingpin Avon Barksdale. Avon Barksdale with his right-hand man Stringer Bell, enforcer Wee-Bey and many lieutenants (including his own nephew, DAngelo Barksdale), has to deal with law enforcement, informants own camp, and competition with a local rival, Omar, whos been robbing Barksdales drug dealers and sales. The investigation instructor, Lt. Cedric Daniels, has to deal with their own problems, such as broken bureaucracy, some of his detectives beating suspects, hard-headed but determined Det.
