New York trapper Tom Dobb becomes reluctantly involved in the American Revolution after his son Ned is drafted in the army and the evil villainous Sergeant Major Peasy. Tom attempts to find his son, and eventually learns that he must stand up and fight for the freedom of the colonies, the aristocratic rebel Daisy McConnahay. As Tom undergoes a change of heart, the events of the war felt in size on a large scale.
